Since Tumblr wants to be annoying in regards to my tags/posts, I’m just making this pinned post to make myself an easy link to my most frequent tags. I’ll add to it as I go.
No but it really can be this simple sometimes.
The “enrichment in the enclosure” meme has a lot of truth to it. We need to shake things up a bit to keep happy. It doesn’t have to be big, but if you ever feel stagnant or a little bluh try going on a walk on a route you haven’t been in or something. It really does help.
reblogging with @arczeroes‘ tags because they blew my mind a little and I think you should read them
Okay, I have got to show you guys the condescending-ass comment this person left in reply…
Several insults to my intelligence, hilariously in tandem with multiple spelling errors (I have no idea whether English is their native language or not, their profile was created 1 week ago and had no info about them at all).
All this for a show with writers (especially it’s creator) and a narrative that treats their audience like idiots.
And for reference the only thing that could’ve possibly be conceived as an insult in either my original comment or the reply was:
- and I hope I don’t have to explain WHY movie Gabriel and how his arc, including how Adrichat was involved, was better. If you say his BS ending in the S5 finale was better, I’m calling you a liar.

That one commenter on YouTube who got offended that I claimed the movie is better and thinking so means I’m “chemically imbalanced” finally fired back to my first reply.
I haven’t had the chance to fully delve into the comment since they actually responded with more than two sentences this time, and I’m at work rn.
But one absolute batshit take in their first paragraph is claiming that “Gabriel didn’t win.”
The man spent 5 seasons being an abusive, negligent father, and being a literal terrorist; and the finale ends with him getting the fucking miraculous, making a wish, and being remembered as a good father and hero - complete with a fucking statue. The bastard got redeemed despite doing nothing to earn a redemption. Paris being a utopia after his wish/death on top of that validates him, that him getting the wish was a good thing.
And depending on whether the woman next to Nathalie in the finale is Emilie or Amelie, it’s still a win; either he died and reunited with Emilie in the afterlife or she was revived and he succeeded in his initial goal.
What is all of that, if not him winning and the show treating it like it’s a good thing?

Do you think if Syren made it explicitly clear that people were drowing when Paris was flooded, people wouldn't be as willing to defend Adrien's behaviour in that episode?
hella-marshmella answered:
I would hope so..
It would at least strip them of any deniability and they would have to acknowledge that, yes, he’s throwing a tantrum while people are dying.
Unless they wanna pull the “they’re already dead/miraculous cure would bring them back anyways” card. Which is a horrific mindset to have no matter how you look at it.
Honestly doubt it.
They are actively blaming both Marinette and Alya for the time he tried to use cataclysm on Scarabella, so they would of course do some Gold Medal Olympics Mental Gymnastics to blame Marinette somehow.

They never did explain why Adrien gave the high road advice to Marinette, did they? Why do you think he did?
Conflict avoidance. His civilian side has always been passive. Best case scenario, he thought Lila would eventually slip up and expose herself as a liar to the class on her own.
Though to be real, Adrien should’ve said ‘fuck the high road’ after ‘Oni-Chan’ and ‘Ladybug’ when Lila was intentionally trying to get Ladybug hurt, got Nathalie & Gorilla in trouble, and when she got Marinette got expelled.

"When pushed to it, Chat Noir *could* be an excellent hero." Then, what is CN missing right now? Motivation? Morality? If either, wouldn't that make him an anti-hero?
hella-marshmella answered:
It’s a little bit of both honestly.
His motivations are all centered on Ladybug and his pursuit of her and not about being a better hero for Paris or taking down Shadow Moth.
As far as his morality, I don’t think Adrien is actively a bad kid. No one hardly ever tells him when he’s in the wrong and makes him genuinely reflect on his wrong doings; and a lot of his negative behaviors are validated by the narrative or other characters (regardless of if they have all the details or not in a given situation). How the hell is he supposed to learn to be better if no one ever tells him he’s in the wrong?
All of this could have been interesting to explore with his character and having him potentially be an anti-hero could’ve been a cool direction to take. He’s just not a good hero, and it would’ve been awesome if the show went with that and had him develop and learn over time to become a truly good one.
Sadly that’s not what they’re doing.
Actually no, I’m not done.
Adrien being the flawed, un-empathetic, kid who has a lot to learn about being a good hero, partner, friend, etc.; it’s something that could’ve made him so interesting to watch, and something I would have loved to watch develop if all these negative traits were intentional.
Writer’s Intent is like the biggest issue I have with how Adrien’s written. The ML crew bends over backwards to defend his actions, saying he’s perfect and doesn’t need to change.
Felix is a character I can get into and enjoy despite the shit he’s pulled, because he’s intended to be a morally gray person and un-likable. The writers don’t try to defend him trying to force a kiss on Ladybug while trying to ruin Adrien’s image (and I don’t either).
Lila is a character I can get behind in concept. She is a villain, she is not intended to be likable at all. Her bad actions are portrayed as such. I have problems with how the show bends to her will and how the other characters lose like 50 IQ points when she’s in the room. But as just a character, she’s fine.
The writer’s intention is to for us to like and sympathize with Adrien no matter what he does including:
- Literally lying down on the job while Ladybug holds off the akuma
- Doing nothing while Chloé bullies Marinette or others.
- Letting Lila continue to lie to and manipulate his classmates when he could’ve backed Marinette up easily.
- Breaking public property in a fit of rage.
- Trying to Cataclysm Scarabella on sight without listening to her first.
- Getting pissy at Ladybug for rejecting him and refusing to cooperate with her in the middle of battle.
- Threatening to quit while Paris was underwater.
- Disregarding Ladybug’s feelings and boundaries when she has already told him “no” multiple times now.
- Starting a relationship with Marinette with a lie by omission (not telling her he knows she’s Ladybug).
- Manipulating her along with Plagg and Tikki by pretending to be a different person as Cat Walker and never telling her the truth afterwards.
- Lying to Theo about their relationship and causing him to be akumatized (while also letting Ladybug be the one to take the fall and apologize).
- Flirting with Ladybug while he was dating Kagami.
- Being excited about a potential akuma, as well as basically goading Mr. Ramier into another Mr. Pigeon episode (and considering we see Mr. Pigeon later - having interrupted Luka & Marinette’s date at the cinema - it’s implied he succeeded in doing so).
They want us to see all of that, and still think he’s a perfect boy who can do no wrong? Hell no.
Gaslighting Tikki and Plagg? Seriously Plagg was much to blame for Catwalker as Adrien...
Tikki probably knew, but didn't care about it she doesn't like to interfere
And doesn't Marinette do the same thing to Adrien?
I'm honestly shocked he hasn't gone fu, fuck off to her or gotten a restraining order
Also the letting Lila lie thing... It's a trama response!!! Also they didn't believe Marinette(that most of them knew for years) why in heavens garden would they believe him?!
First off I said ‘manipulating’, second I said ‘along with Plagg and Tikki’; I did not ignore the role of the Kwami in the Cat Walker scheme, esp. Plagg. Tikki not interfering is just an another annoyance considering how much of a hard ass she likes to be about the abusing the miraculous sometimes (but I guess that only applies to Marinette, huh?).
I assume you’re referring to Adrichat’s repeated advances with the whole “doesn’t Marinette do that same to him?” point, which no the fuck it’s not the same.
Ladybug has not gone after Chat Noir, and Marinette never had actually confessed her feelings to Adrien, and as such had never been rejected by him directly. He is unaware of her romantic feelings until season 5. She has not been rejected directly by him only to pursue, flirt, and continue to confess and against his wishes. Nor try to get a kiss, like Chat did in Glaciator 2 or Weredad.
Letting a liar go unchecked and manipulate your friends and not backing up Marinette “one of my closest friends” Dupain-Cheng is a trauma response???? Fucking really? As for not believing Adrien, at the very least they couldn’t just write him off as jealous like they do Marinette, and either way, that isn’t a fucking excuse for him to not try.
I just wanna say you forgot “Blackmailing Plagg for information while an akuma was actively flooding Paris and people were drowning” on your list. Also “Actually renouncing his duties because he was pissy that Ladybug had to call other people because he couldn’t bother to show up to several Akuma battles”
Also Adrien stans are insane.
You’re correct, plus the list needs updating after the S4 finale and S5.
Like for instance: “Tried to cataclysm two akuma victims - Kim and Damocles - out of lovesquare related rage; despite literally crying about accidentally cataclysming Monarch in episode 3”.
